Surprise, surprise. I am here. Mostly.
There is SO much going on in the world, so I have taken a few steps back - especially on social media. Shit it weird out here, y'all. If you know me, you know that I will get into that later- different post, on a different day. What have I been doing during this self imposed hiatus, you ask? I have been listening to a LOT of audiobooks, watching history programs and listening to music that is comforting to my soul. And, it is the Fall, and I am a hot blooded Midwesterner, so of course I have been watching college football (Go Buckeyes!)
I am doing all that I can to balance out work, the happenings of the world, and a personal life that includes raising a nine year old who is so much like me that sometimes I want to pop her right in the eyeball. We have not even hit the teenage years, y'all. WTH???
Today, I had a few clients and on the way there and back, I was listening to my usual -- 90s R&B because duh, it is THEE BEST. When the kid is in the car, I get suckered into listening to Kidzbop, which, I am CONVINCED, is hell on earth. Covers of songs that should NOT be sung by children. While stopped at a light, I switched my work phone to YouTube and this cover came up. Now, I have heard the original AND the Kidzbop version, and the Jonathan Roy version is the best, by far. (And no, I am not just saying that because he gives interviews in French and reminds me of a man that ran the local coffeeshop in my college town. Those may be factors, but this is also an awesome version). Sit back, relax, and take your mind off of the shitstorm that we are in. At least for the next three minutes and eleven seconds.
