Loyalty to your company??

I just read this story, and I am seriously questioning the logic of this blurb. While I do believe that loyalty to the company that you work for is up, I think that it is out of necessity. I, like most people I know, are so excited to have a job- any job- that loyalty to the company we work for is a no brainer. We aren’t going to bite the hand that feeds us. I won’t, and I have been known to be a biter (ok, I was 2 and I am sure I was defending myself!)
As a temporary employee, I can say that I am excited about having a job in this market; the ability to pay bills makes me happy, and I want to do a good job, so that I will be invited back as much as possible. Does that make me loyal to this company, or loyal to my responsibilities? That remains to be seen.

Ms. Mox. I must say that I am loyal to my company...namely "Quamika Pickens-Harris, Inc." That is all I can be. Yes I am selfish, and I do things out of what I want and what is best for me, as does everyone (or at least should). I am still a believer that there is more than enough out there for everyone. You know I was temping for a company for a year this month, and was finally offered a permanent job. And that is because they are doing what is best for that company, so like I said in turn, I have to do what is best for my company (me). I enjoy your rants. Keep them up!

Hmmm...that article is very interesting. To say that people are becoming increasingly loyal to thier companies may be fallacy... It just seems that more people are doing what it takes to stay employed. Some of us just can't afford to "up and quit" because of office politics. Finding employment ain't that easy now...To quote that blues song: "its cheaper to keep her..."
